After a mindfulness practice yesterday, the teacher shared this poem with us. It struck a chord in me because it is so easy to fall a victim to an ever spinning world of constant demands and someone else’s agendas. It takes a conscious choice and personal agency to shift from I am busy to I choose to be committed; from there is no time to religiously creating and guarding space for the people and activities that matter.

As a leadership coach and trainer, I don’t teach leadership - I teach humanity. Better humans make better leaders, as @jerry.colonna has rightfully said so. The world does not need more leaders who know how to be good when they want to, the world needs more good people who know how to lead well when they have to.

During today’s webinar on “Mindful Productivity in Times of Chaos”, I presented Genevva Coaching Productivity Formula. In its essence is the principle that we can’t manage time, we can only self-manage and that consistency is the hardest to fake and more important than intensity. The hostile environment can be internal or external, but often is both and we have to learn to create a system that minimizes chronic stressors, automates small decisions and maximizes our mental and physical health.
